WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? 

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

2 Peter 3:18

In the closing verses of Peter’s second letter, he challenges those who are followers of Jesus Christ to continue to grow and mature in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. What does spiritual maturity look like? How can I know if I am “growing up” in my faith?

SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS EXPECTED: Hebrews 5:12-14

SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS A PROCESS, NOT AN EVENT: Philippians 3:12-13

SPIRITUAL MATURITY IS DEMONSTRATED MORE BY BEHAVIOR THAN BY KNOWLEDGE: I Corinthians 8:1; James 3:13

POSTIVE UNDER PRESSURE: James 1:2-4,12

SENSITIVE TOWARDS PEOPLE: James 2:1-16

MASTERING HIS/HER TONGUE: James 3:2; Ephesians 4:29

SEEKS PEACE: James 4:1-3, 11-12

UNDERSTANDS THE POWER OF PRAYER: James 5:7,11,16
