Our Statement of Faith

The Bible
The Bible is inspired by God and is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12; John 20:31.

God
There is One God eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:l6-17; 28:19; Luke 1:35; 1 John 5:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God, John 1:1-2, 14; came in the flesh through the virgin birth, Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; lived a sinless life, Hebrews 4:15; performed miracles, John 2:1, Luke 1:1-4; died for the sins of the world, Romans 3:23-2; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Colos­sians 1:14; 1 John 1:7; Hebrews 10:19; bodily rose from the dead, Matthew 28:6; Romans 1:4, 8:1; 1 Corinthians 15; ascended to Heaven and intercedes for us with the Father, Luke 24:50-51; 1 John 2:1-2; Hebrews 7:25; will return in power and glory to judge all crea­tion and to establish an eternal kingdom. Our Need for Salvation through Jesus Christ
Man and woman were created in the image of God, were tempted by Satan, rebelled and sinned and experienced spiritual and physical death. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and apart from Jesus Christ are eternally lost. Becoming a Christian-How, and the Benefits
A person becomes a Christian by personally receiving Jesus Christ as an act of faith, a willful commitment to trust and follow Him. All who believe are assured that Christ comes into their life, Revelation 3:20; sins are forgiven, Colossians 1:14; 2:13-15; the believer becomes a child of God, John 1:12; a new life with Christ begins, 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 10:10; and eternity in Heaven is assured. John 11:25-25, 17:3; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Salvation is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8-10

God. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit indwells the Christian and is actively ministering in the world today enabling and empowering the living of a life pleasing to God; He gives gifts to every believer for building up the Body of Christ (the Church). Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19, 12:1-14; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 12:1-8; 1 Peter 4: 1-10.

The Eternal Future
All people will be resurrected, the Christian to everlasting life in Heaven and eternal rewards; the non-Christian to everlasting death in Hell and eternal punishment. John 5:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; Revelation 20:11-15

The Body of Christ-The Church
There is spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ; many churches but one Lord, Ephesians 4:4. The Church is made up of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ, and is to give praise to God, build up believers, and proclaim the Gospel.
